WHAT HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED The Tamil Nadu government led by Chief Minister Vijay, sworn in on 10 May 2026, has announced a monthly grant of Rs.2,500 to the woman recognised as the head of her household, up to the age of 60, paid by Direct Benefit Transfer. This was a Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) election guarantee and it appears in the "Vetri Tamizhagam" vision document placed before the first cabinet meeting. WHERE IT STANDS TODAY (page updated 1 August 2026) - The Government Order fixing the final eligibility rules has NOT been published. - The new application portal is NOT open. Existing beneficiaries continue to receive that amount until a new order takes effect. TN JOBS will update this page as soon as the Government Order and the application link are published on an official tn.gov.in site.
